We're excited to welcome Amanda Palmer to Freedom Farm as our Social Worker Supervisor. She has shared a little about herself below and we’re thrilled for you to learn more about her:
After 16 years of service at the University of Alabama, I felt a deep calling to step into a more personal and impactful role in supporting families through life’s most difficult challenges. I began this journey by completing my undergraduate studies in Addiction and Recovery, inspired by the profound effect I saw these struggles have on individuals and their loved ones. This passion grew during my graduate studies in Social Work, where I gained the skills to walk alongside families navigating not only addiction, but also the emotional, mental, and relational hardships that often arise from complex family dynamics and generational trauma.
Today, I am honored to serve as a social worker with Freedom Farm, a Christ-centered foster care community dedicated to restoration and healing. I was deeply drawn to Freedom Farm’s commitment to integrating faith, family, and practical care—values that align with my heart for creating safe, nurturing spaces where children and families can truly heal and thrive. This work brings together my experience, compassion, and deep belief that healing happens through both practical support and faith.
